Quicken the Divorce

Begin this spell after sunset but complete it before midnight. For successes in matters of law, you perform it on Thursdays, but Sundays are best for victory over troubles. You can define the issue as one or the other as the best wish for the spell, or if you want to double down and do it twice, it will just reinforce the matter.

You will need:
Two candles of the appropriate gender (or one candle each, colors befitting each person’s zodiac sign)
Red thread
Divorce Oil
A sharp implement for carving the candles
Scissors
A piece of parchment
Dragon’s Blood Ink (or a black pen)
Black thread
A pinch each paprika, tarragon, tobacco
A lighter
A fire safe cauldron or bowl

First using either a male and female candle (or two candles, one each to represent the zodiac signs of those involved) carve the involved persons’ names into the appropriate candles. Then, only on the sex that is to be pushed away, place the reversed rune for Wunjo.  It will bring sorrow, strife and frenzy to the offending party. Anoint both candles with divorce oil, start in the center of the candle, and anoint it widdershins from the center of the candle to top and then center to bottom to “send” the spell out when the candle burns.

Divorce oil contains Sandalwood to banish negativity, Pine for clean breaks and to promote new beginnings, Yerba Mate to end relationships, Wisteria to overcome obstacles  and Passion flower to diminish stress.

**A single oil can be substituted if you only have one of them, or oils may be left out if you have some but not all, the oils used will bring the properties mentioned above to the spell.

Tie the candles together with a red thread to symbolize the love that the people once shared and set them aside.

Write the spell

On a piece of parchment using Dragon’s Blood Ink (a black pen will work in a pinch) write out the following spell.

We once were  bound with holy ties
Now ripped asunder through your lies (with scissors, cut the thread binding the candles, put in cauldron)
This cord’s now cut to set me free
You’ll walk away and let me be

From here on out I’ll walk in peace
Your influence, it will now cease
Divorce be granted now and here
My life without you will be clear

No heartache follows from this place
Of you there’ll be no lasting trace
You’ll have no power over me
As I declare so mote it be

Once you have finished writing the spell on the parchment, read the spell over the candles. When you reach the place where you cut the cord binding the two candles together, you will light only the candle of the person you are getting rid of, and then finish reading the spell.

Once the reading is completed, you will lay the parchment flat before you.

Add one Pinch each:

Paprika – Adds energy to spells
Tarragon – Heal the abused
Tobacco – Win in court

You will do two tri-folds to hold these inside. (i.e. Fold the paper into threes trapping the herbs and tobacco inside, turn it 90 degrees and fold it into three the other direction. You end up with a small filled packet.

Use the Dragon’s Blood Ink (or pen) the draw the following sigil for “Quick Divorce” on both front and back. All lines should be touching. (Unfortunately, the computer makes this hard to do.)

Bind the packet closed with the black thread, knotting it seven times. This packet you will set fire to by holding it over the lit candle to ignite it, and then lay it aside into the cauldron or fire safe container holding the cut red thread.

Allow the candle to burn to the end before snuffing it out. Once it is out, take both candles and the ashes of the parchment and thread away from your place and throw them in the trash.

Poppet Magick: Safe Travel Poppet

Whether traveling to work, school, on vacation, or simply to the grocery store, every witch needs protection during their daily travels. Roads are dangerous places in today’s society. Now, we do not have to worry only about car accidents related to traffic and drunk drivers, but also inattentive driver’s focused on texting while driving, carjackers, road rage sufferers, and many other dangers on our roads. Creating a Safe Travel poppet can help any witch to alleviate the fear and worries we may otherwise experience during the daily treks we are required to make in the course of living our lives.

I suggest using air-dry clay for this poppet because it allows the witch to create two “sides” to the poppet that can be shaped in a similar manner to match up. Items may be pressed between these “sides” for convenience sake. It is easily carved to make it customized so you may include any details you wish. Then, when the poppet is dry, it can be decorated with paints and it will be strong enough to stand up to the sometimes-jarring nature of daily travel, where hard braking and swerving to avoid danger is a part of life.

Focus on safe travel as you create two sides of the poppet to symbolize your vehicle. You may even add, as decoration, representations of “the people” that normally travel in it. Add in the herbs, metal, stones, and personal items belonging to each person who normally travels via the vehicle, to the center of the clay sides when they are joined. At the “north, south, east and west” points of the “vehicle poppet”, carve in Raido, Eihwaz, Nauthiz, and Algiz to protect the vehicle and people who belong in it. If you wish, create a personal sigil for safe travel and carve it into the center of the “doors” area of the poppet.

Once you have allowed the poppet to dry and harden, paint the car including the inner and outer color scheme of your vehicle, and paint the people inside the vehicle to represent those travelers normally found within the vehicle. Once the paint dries, store the poppet in the glove compartment, in a general storage area, in the door storage, etc. As long as the poppet is safe from flying around in case of sudden stops or swerving, or being stepped on and broken, it will begin the increase the safety of travel for those within, especially ones depicted on the poppet. Every witch should have poppet for safe travel in his or her vehicle.

Witches’ Spell: Blessing the Home

When blessing the home, whether it is a new one, or it is a re-blessing of the current home, a witch’s first job, after the cleansing and purifying of the home, is to determine what blessings they intend to draw into the home. After all, blessing the home is not a “one size fits all” endeavor. Some witches among us may choose to bless the home with child or baby blessings, prosperity, marital bliss, and protection. Other witches among us may choose to bless the home with magicks, spell work, divination, spirit working, and protection. Still more witches may choose to imbue their homes with the blessings of friendship, luck, success, and protection.

Just as every witch is unique, so are the individual needs of every witch and every witch’s home. Whether there is a family sharing the home, a roommate, or a single witch, focused on using and strengthening their specific gifts; the most important thing is to tailor the blessings drawn into each home to meet the needs of the people inside that individual home. After all, any Taitsu, Hassan or Moshe may bless a home according to various and assorted spiritual beliefs, be they Christian, Buddhist, Jewish, Muslim, etc. However, only a witch should bless a witch’s home. Why? Because, even though some witches also practice a religious faith alongside their magickal craft, a simple but traditional blessing from many of the world religions, or their chosen religion in particular, may prevent portions of their craft from working, as it should. Especially since most religions seal the homes to spirits and thus nullify the spirit work that many witches perform. Yet, practicing witches know which herbs to use to draw specific blessings into the home and to surround the home. We know which metals or which stones to place inside the home or outside the home to pull in specific blessings.

Just as when preparing a new home prior to moving in, during the cleansing phase, a witch cannot go wrong when adding a few tablespoons of New Moon Water to their cleansing products to get rid of negativity. As such, during the blessings phase using specific Moon Waters may serve as a base to create the Holy Water used during the blessings phase, if that specific witch uses Holy Water in blessing the home. Starting the process by making certain the space is clean and uncluttered and including the Sweep Away Negativity Spell, and cleaning the space via ritual cleansing and purifying of the home as we previously posted.

When re-blessing an existing home, choose your preferred season to bless your home based on what purpose and intent you have for your home. Personally, I suggest autumn if you plan to do it annually, instead of seasonally, as I do. Autumn is the season for working on magickal protection for yourself and your beloveds, as well as for spells focusing on prosperity, wealth, and success, but if you want to bless your home specifically for friendship, healing, love or marriage, etc, you will want to target the blessings to the appropriate season.

Witches may even choose to narrow the focus to a specific day for blessing the home if there is a specific need. For example, if someone has been recently diagnosed with a serious disease and the household is going to start working toward the good health of that family member, planning to bless the home on a Saturday when the moon is waning would be ideal. You are not going to want to wait until springtime, which is the time for healing in body and mind, even though the focus is healing, but targeting the blessing for specific day and moon phase will strengthen the magickal working.

You may choose to create a house talisman or two to hang over the main entrance doors using various mediums. If you choose to, you might wrap an iron nail, with bits of copper, silver, and/or tin, charge it, and hang it over your entrance to draw their specific properties into your home.

Create a personal sigil from your desires for the home, such as: “Protection, Prosperity and Peace” to mark on all doors of the home using Holy Water and let it sink into the doors or air dry upon them to become a part of them. Some witches may choose to use an Anointing Oil to mark the sigil or even a preferred protection rune and/or holy symbol into each door and/or window of your home.

For protection for the home from the outside, the witch may bless and bury a piece of fluorite along with other chosen stones in each quarter of the yard, starting East, South, West then North, and weave the properties of the stones into your protection and blessing spell for of the home.

Walk the outdoor perimeter of the home and the outer perimeter of the yard while scattering what I refer to as the “grocery store blend” of protective herbs: basil, cinnamon, cloves, coriander, garlic, and rosemary. Easily grown in your own garden, purchased from local occult stores or even your local grocery store, once cleansed and purified for magickal use, these herbs are wonderful for protecting against a multitude of harms.

Choosing the candle color(s) based on the properties of the blessings that the witch wants to draw into their home and inscribing them with rune, glyphs, and/or sigils to enhance those properties. Writing out a spell for blessings on parchment to carry and recite in each room before it is “bound and burned” by a colored candle in the center of the home.

Witches can add extra layers of power to the blessings by using the Holy Water in their cauldron (if cauldron is “positively” charged) and using fresh springs of basil, pine, or rosemary as aspergillums for the Holy Water. Burning incense specially created for the blessing or general blessing incense can add another layer.

As always, it is only the limits of the witch’s imagination that will limit the blessing ritual for the home. If you can think it, you can do it. Be a creative witch and see how many layers of blessings you can work into your own personal ritual to bless your home!
